Dr. Laszlo's Message ::

In the first decade of the 21st century we face the choice between living in the last decade of an unsustainable, crisis-prone civilization, or in the first of a new and more peaceful world.

GLOBAL PEACE MEDITATION AND PRAYER DAY

Global Celebration of A New Dawn

2nd Timely Transformation Event, December 22nd, 2007
Another step toward 2012, the global “Embrace the Planet” Celebration

Thousands of individuals participated from the following countries:
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Ecuador, Germany, Guatemala, Guinea, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Mongolia, Nigeria, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay

The Global Peace Meditation and Prayer Day, a joint event of the Club of Budapest and the World Peace Prayer Society was launched in 2007 in order to promote the Global Mind-Shift, the culture of peace, to help create a new era of humanity, a world based on love and harmony, a world in which all different races, ethnic groups, religions, cultures, traditions and customs are respected, and in which every individual and every nation can freely express their individual qualities, while living in harmony with one another and with all life on Earth.

Following the First Global Peace Meditation and Prayer Day on May 20, 2007, which took place with the participation of over one million people in more than 60 countries all over the world, on December 22, thousands of friends of peace gathered in all continents again, this time in order to greet the New Dawn of human consciousness, the New Dawn of growing light and hope, following the Winter Solstice, marking the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

Whereas the May 20 event focused first of all on large events with several hundreds or thousands of people gathering, meditating or praying at one location, this time, the organisers asked the participants to join the global prayer and meditation link individually or in smaller groups, creating a light-filled, harmonious and peaceful circle in their homes or outside in nature, to pray or meditate for the peace of the world around a candle, or similar symbolic representation of Light.

The event was celebrated in a number of ways in countries such as Argentina, Germany, Japan, India, Australia or the United States. The day’s program included a Sunrise Meditation and Prayer to welcome the rising of the New Sun to Celebrate A New Dawn of human consciousness, an Open Meditation and Prayer to celebrate A New Dawn at any time during the day, and a Global Link Teleconference to join voices from around the world, connected live by telephone and web-cast to pray for peace to prevail in every country on Earth.

We would like to express our deep gratitude to all participants for being with us, for sending bright and peaceful thoughts and energies to this global network of light and good will, and for contributing to the Global Mind-Shift, the big opportunity and responsibility of humanity to create a peaceful, harmonious and sustainable human world.

We would like to also thank all participants for supporting the Global Peace Meditation Prayer Day with encouraging comments and suggestions, as well as for sharing their experiences with us.

Jenny from Geelong, Australia wrote on their gathering on December 22:

"Have not long been back from our dawn ceremony down at Balyang Sanctuary, a beautiful natural Aussie bush park by the river (….) We were a small gathering circled around a wooden picnic table covered with a fabric map of the world, a tabletop Peace Pole and lots of candles in protective lantern covers. Our ceremonial lit candles blew out just after we placed them in the sand-tray but the others kept alight. We sang 'Light a candle', as we lit and placed them with a prayer into the bowl. We said prayers for humanity and nature, stood facing the sunrise as we sang 'Yonder come day, Daylight is breaking, Yonder come day, In my soul, Yonder come day, Daylight is breaking, Sun is arising in my soul.
After the closing five minutes silent meditation, we went on our 'footprints of light' silent meditation along the river (both sides) for approximately 42 minutes. It was glorious. The water sparkled in the river, all sorts of birds sang, bushes sent forth their aromas and we bathed in nature.
Thinking of you as you in turn will face the dawn and then join a bigger group later in your day….Infinite love, peace, joy and laughter!”

The next event of the Global Peace Meditation and Prayer Day is planned to be held on May 18, 2008. The celebration will provide us with a new possibility to send out unified prayers and powerful bright thoughts for peace on Earth, for harmony among humanity and with nature, and for an awakening and transformation of consciousness within each and every human being.

More information on the event, on the participation and registration will follow in our regular newsletter in the next couple of weeks.

May Peace Prevail on Earth
